The Adam West occurrence is located on a ridge, southwest of the Adam River and approximately 3 kilometres southwest of Keta Lake.

The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Vancouver Group rocks comprised of a thick sequence of tholeiitic basalts of the Karmutsen Formation and overlying carbonates of the Quatsino Formation. The Vancouver Group rocks are intruded by granodiorite of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite.

Locally, an east-west trending mineralized zone occurs in volcanic rocks. It is stratigraphically below a 12-metre-thick limestone unit and has a strike length of approximately 750 metres, as identified by trenching. The zone has been partially tested by drilling over a 150-metre strike length and for 200 metres down dip. Mineralization consists of chalcopyrite and bornite with minor chalcocite and native copper. The copper minerals are found replacing amygdules in the amygdaloidal lavas as well as along dry, tight fractures.

Drilling in 1972 returned assays that included 0.84 per cent copper over 23.5 metres (GCNL # 95, 1973). Other intercepts returned up to 2.11 per cent copper over 4.5 metres (Hole A-6; Assessment Report 22409).

In 1984, a sample taken from old drill core assayed 0.5729 per cent copper, 1.4 grams per tonne silver, and 0.016 grams per tonne gold (Sample 18705, Assessment Report 14284). The same year, a sample (18703) of mineralized outcrop assayed 0.764 per cent copper and 3.1 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 14284). In 1991, select grab samples yielded up to 4.59 per cent copper (Assessment Report 22409).

In 1991, a tonnage potential was estimated at approximately 1.81 million tonnes, using a strike length of 450 metres, a down dip length of 300 metres, and an average width of 4.5 metres (Assessment Report 22409).

In 2013, three samples (1415732, 1415754 and 1415755) from the Adam West occurrence area yielded from 0.185 to 0.787 per cent copper with 0.022 to 0.110 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 34183).

In 2019, 13 rock samples (19003-19009, 19047, 19048, 19052-19054, and 19079) of mineralized float, subcrop, and outcrop from the Adam West occurrence area yielded from 0.513 to 13.400 per cent copper, 1.0 to 21.9 grams per tonne silver, and 0.09 to 0.699 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 39053).

In 2020, 10 samples (27265-27269, 27271-27274, and 27456) from the Adam West occurrence area yielded from 0.237 to 3.680 per cent copper (Assessment Report 39283).

Work History

In 1984, Craven Resources completed a program of geological mapping, re-sampling of select old drill core and rock - and soil sampling. In 1991, West Pride Industries completed a program of geological mapping, rock -, silt -, and soil sampling, as well as sampling of previous drill cores on the area as the Boyes 1-5 claims, Adam River property. In 1994, Lucky Break Gold completed ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys. During 2006 through 2013, M. Schau completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, and rock sampling on the area as the Kringle South property. During 2018 through 2020, Altum Resource Corp. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, a 3.5 line-kilometre induced polarization survey, and a 361.0 line-kilometre airborne magnetometer survey on the area as the Adam West property.
